The Delta State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction and rehabilitation of several roads across the state, alongside new public infrastructure projects, including office buildings, a university lecture theatre and a civil servants’ clubhouse.
The approvals were granted during the council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at Government House, Asaba.

Aniagwu said the proposed office for the electricity regulatory commission would support the state’s efforts to develop its electricity market following reforms that have expanded the role of state governments in the power sector.
He explained that the state government was working to take advantage of the new regulatory framework to strengthen its electricity sector and advance its development objectives.
The council also approved the construction of an ultra-modern MBA lecture theatre at Delta State University, Abraka, as well as a clubhouse for civil servants at the State Secretariat in Asaba.
Oborevwori Government Reaffirms Commitment to Development
Speaking on the administration’s priorities, Aniagwu said the state government remained committed to implementing its development plans and delivering projects across Delta State.
He maintained that preparations for the 2027 general elections would not distract the administration from its responsibilities or its commitment to providing infrastructure and other public services.
The latest approvals underscore the administration’s continued focus on road rehabilitation, public infrastructure and institutional development across the state.
Residents and motorists in the affected communities will look forward to the timely execution and completion of the approved projects to improve connectivity, reduce travel difficulties and support economic activities.
