The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme has unveiled a five-point strategy aimed at strengthening community engagement and political mobilisation across Kogi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The State Programme Coordinator, Hon. Sani Philips, announced the framework at a press conference in Lokoja on Thursday, describing it as the second phase of the initiative’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.
The press briefing was held under the theme “Re-engineering Grassroots Politics in Kogi State.”
Philips said the programme would prioritise ward-level coordination, policy communication, community engagement, volunteer mobilisation, and monitoring, reporting and accountability.
He explained that the framework was intended to establish functional structures that would sustain communication between the programme and residents across the state’s 239 electoral wards.
According to him, the first phase involved town hall meetings across federal constituencies, providing opportunities to communicate the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the programme’s next phase would build on those engagements by establishing Local Government and Ward Executive structures, scheduled for inauguration on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Philips stressed that effective grassroots engagement required more than periodic meetings, noting that organised structures were necessary to maintain contact with communities.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other APC stakeholders in the state for supporting the programme’s first phase.
Those acknowledged included Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West and chairman of WWT, and Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, representing Kogi East and co-chairman of the programme.
The coordinator explained that WWT was not a campaign council but a structured mobilisation programme dedicated to promoting grassroots support for President Tinubu’s re-election and APC National Assembly candidates in Kogi State.
He said the initiative would follow a bottom-up model, beginning at the ward level and extending through local governments to the state.
Philips further stated that the programme would be voluntary and peaceful, with no tolerance for intimidation, coercion or inducement.
He reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, factual messaging, accountability and respect for democratic rights.
He also urged journalists to maintain accuracy in their coverage and distinguish between announced plans and verified results.
The programme, he said, would focus on organisation, communication and democratic participation as it prepares for the 2027 electoral cycle.
