First Lady’s Visit Will Boost Women, Food Security in Kogi — Prince Michael Ojotule
The Kogi State Coordinator of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju/North Central Alliance (SWAGA/NCA), Prince Michael Ojotule, has described the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Kogi State as a major boost to food security, women’s empowerment and socio-economic development.
Ojotule made the remark on Saturday in Lokoja as the First Lady commenced a one-day working visit to the state, where she is scheduled to inaugurate key projects and launch intervention programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
According to him, the visit demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians, particularly women and vulnerable groups, through targeted empowerment and social investment programmes.
He commended Senator Tinubu for championing initiatives that address hunger, poverty and economic inclusion, saying her interventions have continued to make positive impacts on communities across the country.
“Today, I joined the people of Kogi State in welcoming Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Lokoja for the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North Central region,” Ojotule said.
He noted that the programme is expected to improve access to nutritious food and strengthen food security in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Ojotule added that the First Lady would also launch a women’s financial empowerment programme aimed at providing grants and economic opportunities to vulnerable women to enhance their means of livelihood.
He further noted that Senator Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House, a project designed to strengthen fiscal management and improve public service delivery in the state.
The SWAGA/NCA coordinator expressed confidence that the visit would deepen collaboration between the Federal Government and Kogi State, while delivering lasting benefits to the people through sustainable development initiatives.
