The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, has been honoured by the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN) in recognition of his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and institutional reforms in Nigeria’s housing sector.
The award was presented on Wednesday at the Federal Housing Authority headquarters in Abuja by the Provost of ACAN, Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim, who praised the FHA management for demonstrating selflessness, integrity and dedication in the fight against corruption.

Professor Ibrahim said the Authority’s reforms and transparent leadership earned it the recognition, noting that ACAN, an institution coordinated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), is committed to promoting integrity, ethical leadership and accountability across public institutions.
According to him, the ICPC continues to intensify public awareness campaigns, strengthen anti-corruption education and build strategic partnerships aimed at discouraging corrupt practices across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.
Responding after receiving the award, Hon. Ojo expressed appreciation to ACAN for the honour, describing it as a significant recognition of the collective efforts of the Authority’s management and workforce.
While noting that he would have preferred such recognition towards the end of his tenure, he said the credibility and prestige of the Academy made the award deeply meaningful.
The FHA boss disclosed that since assuming office two years ago, the Authority has undergone remarkable financial and institutional transformation.
He revealed that the Federal Housing Authority has moved from a debt burden of over ₦12 billion to building a revenue base estimated at ₦10 trillion, driven by strategic investments and reforms.
According to Ojo, the Authority has secured investments valued at more than ₦500 billion across Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country, adding that the returns from those investments are sufficient to sustain the agency’s operations.
He also highlighted several staff welfare initiatives introduced by the current management to reduce corruption and improve productivity.
These include the digitisation of operations, clearance of promotion backlogs, enhanced medical services, free staff transportation, payment of a 13th-month salary, and improved allowances.
As part of the Authority’s anti-corruption strategy, Ojo said management has prioritised continuous training and capacity building for employees, both within Nigeria and abroad.
He announced plans to enrol all categories of FHA staff in batches for specialised anti-corruption training at the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria to strengthen ethical standards and eliminate corrupt practices within the organisation.
The FHA Managing Director further disclosed that the Authority has expanded employment opportunities over the past two years by recruiting both able-bodied persons and persons with disabilities from across the country.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustaining inclusive employment policies while continuing reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency and service delivery in Nigeria’s housing sector.
