The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Social Investment Programmes, Widows Welfare Scheme and Livelihood Support Unit, Elder Isioma Okonta, attributed the timely payment to the governor’s commitment to the welfare of vulnerable residents.
Okonta commended Governor Oborevwori for prioritising the welfare of widows.
“We appreciate our Governor, my boss, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his uncommon commitment to the welfare of widows,” he said.
He said the prompt payment of stipends across the 25 LGAs demonstrated the administration’s determination to promote the wellbeing of Deltans.
The official added that the scheme had brought relief and renewed hope to thousands of beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries Express Appreciation
The widows separately expressed gratitude to the governor for sustaining the programme.
They prayed for his wisdom, strength, good health and long life, while also seeking the continuation of the MORE agenda beyond 2027.
