The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter, has dismissed allegations by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) that government officials are using incumbency advantage to suppress opposition activities in the state.

The APC described the allegations as unsubstantiated, following claims by the NDC State Chairman, Chief Hon. Angiamaowei Richman Oyindoubra, that the party’s billboards and campaign materials were allegedly removed or destroyed in parts of Delta State.

In a statement issued on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the Delta APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., said the allegations appeared to be part of an attempt by the opposition party to portray itself as a victim ahead of the election.

The APC urged the NDC to present any credible evidence of wrongdoing to relevant law enforcement and electoral authorities rather than making allegations capable of heating up the political atmosphere.

According to the party, political parties should focus on presenting their programmes, policies and candidates to the electorate.

“Elections are won at the ballot box, not through press statements,” the APC said, stressing that Deltans deserve an election based on ideas, records and competence.

The ruling party also said it had no reason to fear legitimate political competition, expressing confidence in the achievements of the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori under the M.O.R.E. Agenda.

The APC maintained that the administration had recorded development across various parts of Delta State and urged opposition parties to engage voters on issues affecting their communities.

The party further called on all political parties to conduct their campaigns peacefully and within the law.

It said Delta APC remained committed to a peaceful, competitive and credible electoral process, adding that it would continue engaging residents across communities and wards in the state.
