As the political clock ticks steadily toward the 2027 general elections, one truth stands clear for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State: unity is not an option, it is a necessity. The journey ahead demands more than slogans and structures; it demands a renewed commitment to togetherness, loyalty to the party and a deliberate grassroots mobilization strategy that will guarantee a seamless victory.
The APC in Kogi has come a long way. From building a formidable political structure to delivering governance that touches the people at the grassroots, the party has established itself as the dominant force in the Confluence State. That dominance was not built by one man alone, but by the collective sacrifices, resilience, and loyalty of party members across the three senatorial districts – Kogi East, Kogi Central and Kogi West. To sustain that dominance in 2027, that same spirit of collective responsibility must be rekindled.
The lessons of politics are clear: a divided house cannot win an election. Internal wrangling, ego battles and unnecessary factions only weaken the party and give advantage to the opposition. As we approach 2027, APC leaders at all levels – from ward executives to local government chairmen, from state officials to stakeholders and elders – must close ranks. The era of parallel interests must give way to an era of shared purpose. The party is bigger than any individual ambition.
What the APC needs now is continued unity anchored on dialogue, inclusiveness and respect for party supremacy. Every member must feel a sense of belonging. Aggrieved members must be reconciled and the doors of the party must remain open to accommodate and harmonize diverse interests. When we speak with one voice, we campaign with one strength and we win with one landslide.
Beyond unity at the top, victory in 2027 will be decided at the grassroots. Elections are not won on social media or in meeting halls in Lokoja alone; they are won in the wards, in the polling units, in the farms, markets, and homes where the ordinary Kogi voter resides.
Grassroots mobilisation must therefore become our top priority. Our ward executives and polling unit canvassers remain the engine room of our success. We must empower them, equip them and energize them. The message of continuity, transformation, opportunity and reform — the very essence of the APC’s developmental agenda – must be taken to every doorstep in simple language that the people understand. Let the farmer in Ofu know what the party has done for agriculture; let the trader in Lokoja market understand the value of economic stability; let the youth in Okene see opportunity, not just promises.

This is not the time for complacency. The opposition will attempt to exploit any crack in our wall. But a united APC, mobilized from the grassroots and driven by genuine service delivery, will be unbeatable.
Kogi is APC, and APC is Kogi. For a seamless and resounding victory in 2027, let unity be our watchword and grassroots mobilisation be our strategy.
