In the politics of Kogi West and indeed Kogi State, one name keeps coming up anytime the conversation turns to grassroots presence, constituency projects, and direct connection with the people: Hon. Leke Abejide, the member of the House of Representatives Representing Yagba Federal Constituency. Hon. LEKE has built a brand around one simple idea – be where the people are and deliver what they need. That is why the statement, “You can’t beat the reach of Leke Abejide,” is not just political sloganeering. It is a reflection of what people on the ground are seeing and feeling.
PRESENCE BEYOND ELECTION SEASON
For many politicians, constituency engagement starts and ends with campaign posters. For Hon. Abejide, it has been different. From Ayere to Oke Ero, from Isanlu to Mopa, his footprint is visible. Town hall meetings, empowerment programs, scholarships and direct intervention in community disputes are a regular feature. When there is insecurity, he is on the phone with security agencies. When there is a need for a classroom, a borehole or a health facility, his office is pushing memos and following up.
That consistency has earned him trust. People don’t have to wait for election season to see their representative. They see him in the markets, at funerals, at church programs and in community meetings. That kind of visibility is hard to beat.
PROJECTS THAT SPEAK
Reach is not just about physical presence. It is also about impact. In the last few years, Yagba has witnessed a wave of interventions: roads graded, solar street lights installed, youth and women empowered with tools and grants, students supported with scholarships. These are not one-off gestures. They are spread across the three LGAs of the federal constituency – Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopa-Muro.
The strategy is simple. Touch every community, no matter how small. That way, no one feels left out. And in politics, that is how you build a base that lasts.
A BRIDGE BUILDER
Beyond Yagba, Hon. Abejide has also positioned himself as a bridge between Okun land and other parts of Kogi State. In a state where ethnic and regional calculations matter, he has worked to sustain relationships with Kogi Central and Kogi East. His argument has always been that no zone can do it alone, and that synergy is the only way to achieve political progress for Okun people.
WHY HIS REACH STANDS OUT
What makes the reach difficult to beat is the combination of three things: Accessibility, Consistency, and Delivery. People can reach him. He shows up. And when he makes a promise, there is usually something to show for it months later.
In a democracy, representation is not just about speaking on the floor of the House. It is about making life better in the villages and towns you represent. On that score, Leke Abejide has set a standard.

You can debate policies. You can disagree on party lines. But on reach – on being present, known, and felt across Kogi West – the record is clear. You really can’t beat it. For this we say… LEKE LEKAN SI
