Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has reaffirmed his support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Sule made his position known on Tuesday when he received the Coalition of Youth Support Groups for Wadada 2027 at the Government House in Lafia.
The coalition, led by its Chairman, Comrade Jaafar Muhammad Loko, said it was established to mobilise support for Wadada’s emergence as the next governor of Nasarawa State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Loko said the coalition was also committed to securing victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the coalition comprises about 22 youth, religious, ethnic, professional and other interest groups spread across the state.
He said its structure extends from the state level to the three senatorial zones, 13 local government areas, 147 electoral wards and polling units.
Loko disclosed that the coalition has 25 officials in each local government area, 15 officials in each electoral ward and five officials at every polling unit, giving it more than 4,000 officials.
He also listed 14 directorates covering finance and administration, media and strategic communication, logistics and security, monitoring and evaluation, ICT and digital innovation, students’ affairs and other areas.
Coalition Outlines Welfare Programmes
The coalition told the governor that it plans to enrol 650 vulnerable persons, representing 50 beneficiaries from each local government area, into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme.
It also plans to distribute 40,000 exercise books to junior secondary school pupils across the state, with 10,000 copies already funded by Arc. Shehu Ahmed Tukur.
Loko said the coalition would also visit at least one health facility in each of the state’s 13 local government areas.
He disclosed that the

coalition has a working budget of N56 million and had received N5 million as take-off donation from its contact and liaison person, Umar Danyaya Aliyu.
Sule Directs Consideration of Youths, Women
Responding, Governor Sule thanked the coalition for its support and commended Wadada’s emergence as the preferred candidate.
He said the process followed consultations with stakeholders, including youth leadership in the state.
The governor directed that requests for the appointment of more women and youths from the delegation’s areas should be taken up with the relevant Commissionssubstances worth
He instructed the coalition to submit a list of qualified candidates for consideration based on merit.
Sule also told the delegation to prepare for a forthcoming distribution of vehicles to support its mobilisation activities.
The meeting comes amid increasing political mobilisation within the APC as stakeholders position themselves ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa governorship election.
