Toto Erupts in Jubilation as Sule Approves Isimbabi’s 500-Seater Stadium
….Stakeholders Demand Immediate Take-Off, Urge Governor to Deliver Leadership College Next
Celebrations swept across Toto Local Government Area on Friday as residents and stakeholders hailed the approval of a 500-seater multi-purpose sports stadium, describing the project as another major breakthrough secured through the efforts of the member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi.
The stakeholders said the stadium project has further raised the bar for effective representation, applauding Isimbabi for translating campaign promises into tangible development initiatives.
Buoyed by the approval, they also called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to immediately give the green light for the establishment of the proposed Nasarawa State College of Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre in Toto, another landmark project initiated and facilitated by the lawmaker.
According to the stakeholders, the stadium project has long moved beyond the stage of political promises. They noted that it secured a Certificate of No Objection nearly two years ago and is now awaiting the governor’s final approval to enable the Office of the Accountant General release funds for construction.
They recalled that the Engr. A.A. Sule Legacy 500-Seater Multi-Purpose Mini Sports Stadium was first unveiled in 2024 after a strategic meeting involving TRT Nigeria Limited at the State Assembly complex.
At the meeting, Hon. Isimbabi announced that Governor Sule had approved the siting of the stadium in Toto, while the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, pledged legislative support for its speedy execution. The then Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Jafaru Ango, also confirmed that Toto was among the five local government areas selected to benefit from the state’s mini-stadia programme.
The stakeholders insisted that the people of Toto are not asking for fresh announcements but the immediate execution of projects that have already been approved and properly processed.
They maintained that both the stadium and the proposed College of Leadership and Entrepreneurship have the potential to transform Toto into a hub for sports, youth empowerment, leadership training and economic growth.
“Our people have heard the announcements. What they want now is action. The stadium and the leadership college should move from paper to reality,” one of the stakeholders said.
They urged the Nasarawa State Government to fast-track the commencement of both projects, stressing that Toto deserves lasting development driven by execution rather than repeated ceremonies.
