The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has exceeded the promises made to Deltans during the 2023 election campaign.
Oghenesivbe made the assertion on Sunday while speaking on a special Democracy radio programme monitored in Asaba.
He attributed his confidence in the governor’s 2027 re-election bid to what he described as the administration’s visible achievements across infrastructure, healthcare, social protection and economic development.
According to him, the Oborevwori administration has embarked on projects that have transformed major urban centres and improved road connectivity across Delta State.
He cited the Effurun-Warri infrastructure programme, which includes flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction, as one of the administration’s major achievements.
The projects, he said, were awarded at a cumulative cost of about N78 billion.
Oghenesivbe also highlighted the Uromi Junction flyover in Agbor and the Otovwodo Junction flyover in Ughelli, valued at about N59.7 billion and N39.3 billion respectively.
He said other projects included the Ode-Itsekiri Road and bridges, Ogulaha Bridge, Asaba waterfront roads, Summit Road expansion and rehabilitation of Nnebisi Road.
The government’s social intervention programmes, he added, had also benefited hundreds of thousands of residents.
According to him, the D-CARES programme had reached more than 208,209 beneficiaries through different intervention schemes, including cash transfers, public works, livelihood support, community development and assistance to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The DG further pointed to investments in healthcare, including the procurement and inauguration of dialysis machines, ultrasound scanners and CT scanners.
He said eight dialysis machines, 25 ultrasound scanners and two CT scanners were inaugurated in 2025, while three MRI machines were approved for major hospitals in Warri, Oghara and Asaba.

Oghenesivbe said the projects demonstrated the administration’s commitment to its M.O.R.E. Agenda and the promise of “Opportunities for All.”
He maintained that the impact of the projects would be a major factor in the 2027 election.
