In a statement signed by Marvins Obibi on behalf of the foundation’s management, the organisation said the programme was designed to turn the founder’s birthday into an opportunity to support vulnerable members of the community.

According to the foundation, the initiative reflects its commitment to improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for people who require financial assistance to become more economically stable.

The foundation also said the programme aligns with the “Opportunities for All” component of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on expanding opportunities for citizens and improving their livelihoods.

Youths to Receive Skill Empowerment Support

Under the Youth Skill Empowerment component, the foundation said financial assistance would be provided to youths from Isoko South and Isoko North who are undergoing verifiable skills acquisition programmes or trade-related training.

The initiative is expected to support young people seeking to acquire practical skills that could improve their chances of becoming self-reliant.

Foundation Targets Vulnerable Elderly Persons

The Elderly Care Support component will provide financial assistance to vulnerable elderly men and women who have no children or other immediate family members to cater for them.

The foundation said the intervention was aimed at providing support to elderly persons facing financial difficulties and social vulnerability.

Orphans, Persons With Disabilities to Benefit

The Orphanages and Disability Aid component will support orphanages and persons living with disabilities.

The foundation also said individuals who require prescription medication but cannot afford the cost would be considered under the initiative.

Small Business Owners Get Support

The fourth component, Small Business Boost, will focus on entrepreneurs who already operate businesses.

According to the foundation, one beneficiary is expected to be selected from each ward in Isoko South Local Government Area, with the objective of strengthening existing businesses and supporting local economic activity.

Foundation Opens Nomination for Beneficiaries

The Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh Foundation called on members of the public to nominate deserving beneficiaries for the various categories.

It urged nominators to clearly indicate the category under which each nominee should be considered and provide sufficient information to enable the foundation to verify the claims.

The foundation said a committee made up of credible members of the forum would oversee the selection process.

It added that beneficiaries would be selected based on fairness, transparency and potential for maximum community impact.

Birthday Celebration Should Be About Transforming Lives

The foundation said the N10 million initiative was conceived to ensure that Obiodeh’s birthday celebration goes beyond personal festivities and becomes an avenue for community development.
