Nasarawa ADC Elects Ex-Deputy Governor Abdul as Chairman, Nadare Secretary

The Nasarawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected former Deputy Governor, Chief John Michael Abdul, as its State Chairman, while Alhaji Isah Adamu Nadare emerged as State Secretary, following a peaceful consensus congress held in Lafia, the state capital.

The Chairman of the Congress Committee, Mr. Kani Jibarang, who announced the results, said the process was conducted smoothly and reflected the unity of the party in the state.

Other members of the newly constituted State Executive Committee are Hon. Prince Mohammed Yamusa Chindo (Deputy Chairman), Alhaji Aminu Nagogo (Treasurer), Elmahmud Hussaini Sani (Financial Secretary), Hajiya Hafsat Ibrahim Tiyel (Women Leader), and Prince Shekwoaga Musa Maikasuwa (Youth Leader).

Also elected are Barr. Paul Magaji Ajeh (Legal Adviser), Dr. Taimako Sunday Anyuabaga (Publicity Secretary), and Hajiya Hassana Musa Maidoki (Auditor).

At the zonal level, Comrade Idris Ojoko emerged as State Vice Chairman (Zonal Chairman) for Nasarawa West Senatorial District. Alhaji Yahaya Onyapa and Mr. Joseph Massin were elected as Zonal Chairmen for Nasarawa South and Nasarawa North Senatorial Districts, respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Abdul expressed appreciation to party members for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work closely with stakeholders to strengthen grassroots mobilization and position the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.

He also assured aspirants of a fair, inclusive, and transparent primary process.

Goodwill messages were delivered by party leaders, including the Deputy National Chairman, Senator (Mrs.) Patricia Akwashiki; National Vice Chairman (Diaspora), Hon. Barr. Musa Elayo; Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe; and the State Chief Whip, Mr. Julius Miyanki Ogah.

They congratulated the new executives and urged them to intensify mobilization efforts ahead of future elections.

The congress was attended by key stakeholders and notable gubernatorial aspirants, including Hon. Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi (CON), Major General Nuhu Angbazo, Alhaji Jibril Sabo Keana, Hon. Ayuba Umar, Alhaji Nasiru Soja Abdullahi, and Hon. Umar Shuaibu Kubi, among others.

The event concluded with a renewed call for unity under the party’s slogan, “Arise and Shine Nigeria.”
