Kogi Central, was brought to a complete standstill as former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, made a highly anticipated homecoming that has now sent a clear and strong message to opposition camps ahead of the 2027 Senatorial election. What was initially planned as a simple consultation visit turned into a massive political carnival, as thousands of supporters, party loyalists, youth groups, market women, and traditional leaders trooped out in their numbers to welcome the man fondly called the WHITE LION.

Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta and Ogori-Magongo, witnessed an unusual influx of people, all clad in amazing colours, chanting solidarity songs and holding placards with inscriptions like “Kogi Central for White Lion” and “Senate 2027 is Secured”, among others. The convoy of the former governor, which moved through the major towns of the districts, was forced to a crawl as the crowd swelled beyond control, a clear demonstration of Bello’s enduring political influence and grassroots appeal in his home zone.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at his country home in Okene, a visibly emotional Yahaya Bello thanked the people for their love, loyalty and unwavering support over the years. He stated that his decision to vie for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat is not driven by personal ambition, but by a burning desire to give his people a strong, courageous, and experienced voice in the Red Chamber.
