The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the party’s National Vice Chairman, South South, Chief Dr. Dan Orbih, describing his death as a huge loss to the Party, family and to Nigeria’s democratic process.
In a Condolence Message signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the Kogi PDP said Chief Orbih was a steadfast party man, a bridge-builder and a strong voice for unity within the opposition.
“We received with rude shock the news of the demise of our National Vice Chairman, South South, Chief Dr. Dan Orbih. He was a leader who stood firm for the ideals of the PDP even in difficult times. His commitment to party discipline, internal democracy and national cohesion will be greatly missed”, the statement read.

The party in Kogi State noted that Chief Orbih played critical roles in stabilizing the South South zone and in strengthening the PDP ahead of national elections, stressing that his wealth of experience as a former Edo State Chairman and later as a zonal leader helped shape the party’s strategy and messaging across the region.
“We commiserate with the National Working Committee, the South South Zonal Executive, the government and people of Edo State, and his immediate family. Chief Orbih lived a life of service. We pray that Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest and give the family and the entire PDP the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”, Hon. Gambo added.
As a mark of honour and respect for the late National Vice Chairman, the National Working Committee in a Press Statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, directs all PDP offices to fly the Party’s flag at half-mast for a period of three days.
