Erico Reaffirms Commitment to Okaba Development, Donates ₦10m to OCDA

Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, has reaffirmed his commitment to the sustainable development of Okaba community.

In a statement signed by Hon. Matthew Ochada, Chief Press Secretary to Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, and dated September 27. Erico made the commitment during the inauguration of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Okaba Community Development Association (OCDA) and a community fundraising event held in the Federal Capital Territory.

At the event, he announced a ₦10 million intervention to support the association’s development initiatives.

The gathering brought together Okaba sons and daughters, traditional stakeholders and community leaders who discussed strategies for advancing infrastructure, welfare and other development priorities within the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Erico said his relationship with Okaba went beyond financial assistance, stressing the importance of building a sustainable partnership with the community.

“My commitment to Okaba goes beyond financial contributions. It is about establishing a lasting partnership rooted in unity, shared progress, and collective responsibility.”

He added that collective efforts could help address critical infrastructure needs and promote development across Okaba and Kogi East.

The newly inaugurated OCDA President, Alhaji Usman Alfa, commended Erico for responding promptly to the community’s development needs.

Alfa described the ₦10 million contribution as a significant boost to the association’s strategic plans, saying it reflected Erico’s interest in human capital development and community advancement.

The OCDA leadership said the funds would be channelled into priority development projects and welfare programmes designed to improve the living conditions of residents.
