Ekiti Polytechnic Hosts FG YouWiN! Enterprise Education Programme, Distributes Free Entrepreneurship Books to Students
The Ekiti Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti, has hosted the Federal Government’s YouWiN! Enterprise Education Programme and Free Books Distribution Exercise, aimed at equipping students with entrepreneurial knowledge, business skills, and self-reliance for future success.
The programme, which commenced on Wednesday and continued on Thursday at the institution’s campus, featured awareness sessions on enterprise development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and practical skills acquisition for students of the institution.
Speaking while declaring the programme open, the Registrar of Ekiti Polytechnic, Mr. A. Y. Adewumi, commended the Federal Government for introducing the initiative, describing it as a strategic intervention that would empower undergraduates with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive beyond the classroom.

He noted that exposing students to entrepreneurship and enterprise education at an early stage would guarantee them a brighter future by reducing dependence on white-collar jobs and encouraging innovation and wealth creation.
Adewumi reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to partnering with governments at all levels and relevant organisations in promoting educational programmes that would foster self-development, self-employment, and sustainable economic growth among students.
According to him, such collaborations would further strengthen the Polytechnic’s vision of producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also equipped with practical skills for national development.
Earlier, the facilitator of the programme urged students in both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) categories to embrace entrepreneurship and enterprise education as a pathway to financial independence and career success.
The facilitator stressed that developing entrepreneurial skills would enable graduates to become job creators rather than job seekers while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic development.
The event also featured the distribution of free entrepreneurship books highlighting successful enterprise development models and business success stories from across the world, providing students with valuable learning resources to support their entrepreneurial aspirations.
Participants described the initiative as timely and impactful, expressing appreciation to the Federal Government for investing in youth empowerment through enterprise education.
