Apostle Suleman to Tinubu: “Resign If You Can’t Fix Insecurity”
The General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Johnson Suleman, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down from office if he is unable to address the worsening security challenges confronting the country.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Apostle Suleman expressed deep concern over the persistent wave of killings, kidnappings, banditry, and violent attacks across several parts of Nigeria, lamenting that many citizens now live in fear due to the deteriorating security situation.
The cleric questioned the effectiveness of government efforts in tackling insecurity, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of any government. According to him, Nigerians entrusted their votes to leaders with the expectation that they would provide safety and stability, making it unacceptable for innocent citizens to continue suffering from relentless attacks.
Suleman noted that communities in various states have witnessed repeated assaults by armed groups, leading to loss of lives, displacement of residents, and destruction of property.
He argued that if the government lacks the capacity to restore peace and guarantee the security of citizens, then those in leadership positions should consider relinquishing power.
“Resign if you can’t fix insecurity,” the fiery preacher declared, insisting that leadership should be measured by the ability to protect the people and improve their welfare.
The outspoken cleric further urged the federal government to take decisive action against criminal elements terrorizing communities, calling for stronger security measures, better intelligence gathering, and greater accountability among security agencies.
His remarks come amid growing concerns from religious leaders, civil society groups, and ordinary Nigerians over the rising cases of abductions, violent crimes, and attacks in different regions of the country.
Apostle Suleman has on several occasions spoken publicly on national issues, particularly matters relating to governance, security, and the welfare of citizens.
