Without rhetoric and no gainsaying, the Former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is a man of proven integrity, realist with a large heart and a detribalized leader who sees all Kogites as one thereby bringing everybody together in unity – a situation where our diverse culture, religion, ethnicity or language, does not divide us.
This is unparalleled due to the composure of Dr. Yahaya Adoza Bello’s style of administration where love and unity was used as a major tool for the development of the Confluence State.
To start with, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello was the first Governor to pick another tribe as his Chief of Staff. The historic act has made him non tribalistic fellow and a trail blazer.
Surprisingly, FGYB convinced all members of People’s Democratic Party PDP in the State House of Assembly to decamp to the All Progressives Congress APC and they did. This was one magic that is beyond human comprehension in view of the Party’s grip in the State as a major opposition Party then.
FGYB is the first Governor in history to involve women in politics by giving all Vice Chairmanship seats in the 21 Local Government Areas of the State to women as well as Councillorship on ratio four to six. This has practically earned Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello the “OLUSOLA SARAKI OF KOGI POLITICS”
He is a man that loves his people and has the same love for diverse tribes in the State. Simply put, he was a Governor for all. He was seen to be one who forgives easily and holds no grudge thereafter.
He was the first Governor to build a flyover in Kogi State (Ganaja Junction), he upgraded so many traditional rulers stools to first class and other grades, established two Universities – Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara and Kogi State University Kabba with students graduating from those ends.
FGYB Built Reference Hospital Okene with state of the art facility, Omi rice mill, ensured high profile security architecture throughout his tenure, built a standard Model Science College and General hospitals across the three Senatorial districts, provided Ambulance across the hospitals in Kogi State, free Health Insurance Agency for both civil servants and pensioners, construction of roads across the three districts, Electrification projects, Erosion control, provision and installation of transformers, built a befitting revenue house, agricultural intervention through provision of tractors, farm implements, fertilizers and seedlings to farmers, to mention but a few.
Despite choosing Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as his successor, he won 90% votes from Kogi West and the love of the people of the Western Senatorial District for FGYB remained intact. His followership across the West continues to grow because he has done the best for them. We are optimistic that God’s willing, His Excellency, Governor Ododo will pick a Candidate from the West as his successor at the end of his 8yrs tenure.
Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has written his name in Gold in the heart of Kogites and in the political terrain, FGYB is the “OLUSOLA SARAKI OF KOGI POLITICS”
