In the political history of Kogi State, no single phrase has resonated more deeply than unity. For Kogi West, a senatorial district blessed with diversity, intellect, and cultural wealth, unity has always been our greatest strength and, when absent, our greatest weakness. Today, as we approach another critical political junction, the call has become louder and clearer: KOGI WEST UNITE! LET’S FINISH WHAT WE STARTED WITH HIS EXCELLENCY, ALH. AHMED USMAN ODODO.

The election of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as Governor of Kogi State was not just a victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC); it was a victory for equity, fairness, and the age-long understanding that has kept Kogi State stable. It was a collective alignment between Kogites from Central, and West and now we are advocating that continuity must be sustained. For Kogi West, we stood firmly, we campaigned vigorously, and we delivered. And now, the work has started.

In less than two years, Governor Ododo has proven that our trust was not misplaced. He has approached governance not as a tribal champion, but as a true Confluence Governor. From Lokoja to Kabba/Bunu, from Ijumu to Yagba East and Yagba West, from Mopamuro to Koton-Karfe, the evidence is visible. Salaries are paid promptly, infrastructure projects are ongoing, security is being strengthened, and the civil service is being reformed for efficiency. More importantly, he has shown uncommon respect for the Okun people, for our traditional institutions, and for our elders. He listens, he consults and he includes.

This is why the conversation for 2027 must not be about division. It must be about completion. Unfinished projects cannot be abandoned. The road map for development laid by the administration needs a second term to mature into full transformation.

Some will come with the politics of sentiment, trying to divide us along clan lines, trying to remind us of old grievances. We must reject them. What has Yagba gained when we were divided? What has Kabba/Bunu gained when we fought ourselves? What has Ijumu or Mopamuro gained when we allowed people to exploit our disunity? The answer is nothing. But when we were united, we produced a Speaker, we produced a Senator, we produced commissioners, and we produced relevance in the government of Kogi State. Unity is profitable.

Governor Ododo represents that unity. He is a bridge between the old and the new, between the East and the West. His government has given Kogi West a sense of belonging that we must not gamble with. To rally support for his re-election is not about party alone; it is about self-preservation and strategic positioning. If we sustain this partnership, Kogi West’s voice will be louder in 2031 when we make our legitimate demand for the governorship.

Therefore, let this be a clarion call to all sons and daughters of Kogi West – in Yagba, in Kabba, in Ijumu, in Lokoja, at home and in the diaspora. Let our traditional rulers, our youth leaders, our women leaders, our market men and women, our okada riders, our farmers, and our students come together.

Let us organize ward to ward, unit to unit. Let us preach one message: Kogi West is united for Ododo. We started this journey together. We trusted Ododo. He has not failed us. Now, let us finish what we started.
Ododo Again! Kogi West Unite! APC All The Way!
