The National Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Dr Yusuf Mamman Dantale, has congratulated the party’s presidential candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the recognition associated with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), describing it as a demonstration of confidence in his leadership and commitment to national unity.
Dantale said the development, alongside recognition from Islamic stakeholders in Oyo State, reflected the importance of religious tolerance, inclusiveness and cooperation in building a united Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the country could embark on a path of recovery under Makinde’s leadership, insisting that the presidential candidate possessed the qualities needed to reposition the nation.

Describing Makinde as a detribalised leader who transcends religious, ethnic and sectional boundaries, the APM national chairman said the governor recognised the importance of accommodating all segments of society.
According to him, Makinde’s leadership philosophy aligns with the vision of resetting Nigeria and building a country where every citizen has a sense of belonging, irrespective of religious belief, ethnic background or place of origin.
Dantale made the remarks during the weekend at the investiture ceremony involving Governor Makinde at the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
He called on Nigerians to rally behind the presidential candidate, whom he described as a credible alternative capable of addressing the country’s leadership challenges.
The APM chairman also congratulated Makinde for what he described as his willingness to challenge the status quo, stressing that Nigeria belongs to all citizens regardless of their tribe, religion or background.
Dantale maintained that national unity, inclusive governance and mutual respect among the country’s diverse communities should remain central to the quest for a better Nigeria.
He expressed confidence that Makinde’s leadership approach would help promote a more inclusive political environment and advance the vision of a renewed nation.
