Abia AAC Guber Candidate Doris Ogala Replies VDM, Says Her Mission Is Selfless Service

The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Abia State and Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has responded to social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as VDM over remarks suggesting that she was being sponsored by Omoyele Sowore to unseat the incumbent governor, Alex Otti.
Ogala, in a statement, dismissed the claim and clarified that her ambition to contest for the governorship was a personal decision driven by her desire to serve the people selflessly.
Addressing VDM, whom she described as someone she deeply respects, Ogala said she was choosing peace over conflict and distancing herself from what she termed a growing misunderstanding.
“Martins Vincent Otse, I deeply respect your strength, but I choose to distance myself from this misunderstanding. You have come through for me in the past, and I do not take that for granted. However, I choose peace over chaos,” she said.
She further explained that her decision to seek the governorship ticket of the AAC was entirely independent, stressing that no individual, including Sowore, influenced or dictated her political ambition.
According to her, the AAC presidential candidate was unaware that she had obtained the party’s nomination form until a vetting session.
“My decision to run for governor is entirely my own, and I am not someone anyone can dictate to. Omoyele Sowore was never aware I had obtained the African Action Congress nomination form until a particular vetting session,” she stated.
Ogala also disclosed that since declaring her intention to contest, she had neither spoken with nor met Sowore until they encountered each other in court.
She appealed to both parties and their supporters to embrace unity and work together toward what she described as liberating the system from long-standing oppression.
“I have a mind of my own. I want to plead with you all to sheathe your swords, come together, and join forces so we can retire those oppressors who have intentionally hijacked our system. I love you both. God bless you,” she added.
