A coalition of youth support organisations in Nasarawa State has reaffirmed its backing for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 governorship election, citing his proposed HEARTS Agenda and public-service experience.
The endorsement was announced on October 1, 2026, during a press conference organised as part of activities marking Nasarawa State’s 30th anniversary.
The state was created from the former Plateau State on October 1, 1996.
The conference, themed “Nasarawa State at 30: The Need for Continuity, Consolidation and Sustainability of the Gains,” brought attention to the state’s development journey and the need for sustained investment, according to the coalition.
The group said it comprises approximately 22 youth and support organisations working to mobilise support for Wadada and other APC candidates.
It disclosed that its structure extends from the state level to polling units, with more than 4,000 officials.
The coalition also announced plans to engage stakeholders in 170 communities across the state.
According to the group, the planned engagements will involve youth leaders, women leaders, traditional rulers and community stakeholders.
It said 10 communities had already been visited.
HEARTS Agenda Takes Centre Stage
The coalition said Wadada’s development framework was one of the reasons for its continued support for his governorship aspiration.
Wadada’s published HEARTS Agenda outlines priorities including Human Capital Development; Energy and Mineral Resources; Agriculture and the Green Economy; Rural and Urban Development; Trade, Investment and Industry; and Security.
The senator has also publicly stated that his proposed administration would seek to institutionalise reforms and build on existing development initiatives rather than discard them.
The coalition said such an approach could support continuity while introducing additional priorities in areas such as youth development, agriculture, investment, infrastructure and security.
It also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration for investment initiatives and development programmes.
The group referenced the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy and the activities of NASIDA, which currently promotes investment opportunities in sectors including mining, agriculture, healthcare, energy and infrastructure.
Call for Peaceful 2027 Process
While reaffirming its endorsement of Wadada, the coalition called on youths, women, traditional leaders, community leaders and first-time voters to participate peacefully in the 2027 electoral process.
It urged political actors to avoid division, intimidation and inflammatory language.
“We value Senator Wadada’s public-service experience and his emphasis on practical development priorities,” the group said.
It added that the state needed leadership that would engage communities, expand opportunities for youths and women and attract investment.

The coalition thanked communities that had received its delegation and said further engagements would continue under the coordination of Comr. Jaafar Muhammad Loko.
“As Nasarawa State turns 30, let us honour our past, recognise progress, speak honestly about the work ahead and unite around a future in which every community and every generation can thrive,” the coalition stated.
