The people of Yagba Federal Constituency have spoken and their voice is clear. The incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Leke Abejide, has answered the call to return to the Green Chambers for a third term. As the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2027 General Elections, he is carrying forward a mandate built on Service, Visibility, and Results.
Since his first election, Hon. Abejide has set a standard that many in Kogi West now measure other representatives against. His tenure has been marked by consistent engagement with the grassroots. From Yagba East to Yagba West and Mopa-Muro, communities have felt his presence not just during campaigns, but in the day-to-day realities of governance.
His track record speaks for itself. Boreholes, classrooms, health centers, solar street lights, road grading and direct empowerment for youths and women have become familiar projects across the constituency. Beyond physical projects, he has championed legislative interventions that put Yagba on the national map. That is why many constituents believe Yagba has no alternative in 2027.
The recent list released by Nigeria’s electoral umpire – the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, further strengthens that belief. With no strong rival on the ballot to match his structure and goodwill, I strongly belief that Elder Leke is positioned to coast to victory seamlessly. Politics, however, is not just about names on a list. It is about trust earned over time and Abejide appears to have that in abundance.
A third term will allow him to consolidate on ongoing projects and do even more for Yagba and beyond. The expectation is simple: more representation, more development and more pride for the federal constituency.
As 2027 approaches, my prayer is that Hon. Leke Abejide will again succeed in his legislative assignment because he remains the best man for the job. He is a leader whose reach, record, and resolve continue to set him apart.
