...You Matter Charity Foundation to Empower Women, Support Vulnerable Residents
Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State is set to receive the Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, as she leads the You Matter Charity Foundation on a humanitarian outreach to Kiagbodo, the headquarters of Burutu Federal Constituency, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Chief Julius Takeme (JP), announced the visit in a statement issued on behalf of the government and people of the council, describing it as a landmark event that reflects the First Lady’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and community development.
Takeme noted that the outreach forms part of the You Matter Charity Foundation’s statewide humanitarian tour across federal constituencies in Delta State, adding that Burutu Federal Constituency, which comprises Burutu Local Government Area, is honoured to host the initiative.
He commended the Foundation for its sustained efforts in supporting children with special needs, empowering women and improving the welfare of vulnerable persons through life-changing interventions anchored on its motto, “Everybody is Somebody.”
According to the council chairman, Deaconess Oborevwori has continued to distinguish herself through compassionate leadership and impactful humanitarian programmes that have brought hope, relief and empowerment to countless families across Delta State.
“We are delighted to welcome Her Excellency, not only because of the office she occupies but because of the compassion and selfless service she has consistently demonstrated through the You Matter Charity Foundation. Her dedication to touching lives continues to inspire hope and transform communities across Delta State,” Takeme stated.
He expressed appreciation for the Foundation’s numerous humanitarian interventions, noting that the Kiagbodo outreach is expected to provide meaningful support to beneficiaries while expanding the Foundation’s positive impact across Burutu Federal Constituency.
The chairman called on political leaders, elected and appointed public office holders, councillors, traditional rulers, women and youth groups, religious organisations, civil society organisations, party faithful and residents of the local government to turn out in large numbers to accord the First Lady and her entourage a warm and memorable reception.
Takeme also urged residents to use the occasion to showcase the unity, peace and hospitality for which Burutu Local Government Area is widely known while appreciating the humanitarian contributions of the You Matter Charity Foundation to the people of Delta State.
He reaffirmed the council’s readiness to receive the First Lady and expressed optimism that the humanitarian outreach would leave a lasting legacy of hope, empowerment and improved livelihoods for beneficiaries throughout Burutu Federal Constituency.
