KOGI NUT FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIANS AT EASTER, URGES SACRIFICE AND DEDICATION
The Kogi State Wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has felicitated with Christians across the state on the occasion of Easter celebration, calling on the faithful to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, humility and selfless service as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Abayomi Ayoola, speaking on behalf of the executives and members of the Union, extended warm Easter greetings to the people of Kogi State and wished them a peaceful and fulfilling celebration.
He emphasized the need for citizens, particularly teachers, to use the solemn period to reflect on the passion, death and resurrection of Christ, which symbolizes hope, renewal and redemption for mankind.

Comrade Ayoola urged teachers across the state to draw inspiration from the life of Christ by living sacrificially and contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of society.
He noted that the teaching profession remains a noble calling with the capacity to shape the future, stressing that educators must remain committed, dedicated and proud of their role in building a better nation.
The NUT Chairman also congratulated the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Wemi Jones, as well as other members of the state executive council on the occasion of Easter.
He prayed for divine wisdom and sound judgment for the leadership of the state to enable them steer Kogi towards greater progress and make it a reference point for positive development.
He particularly commended Governor Ododo for approving the promotion of teachers across various boards, describing the gesture as a significant relief for workers grappling with economic challenges, rising inflation and increasing cost of living.
According to him, the move has boosted the morale of teachers and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to the welfare of education workers in the state.
While reiterating the importance of dedication to duty, Comrade Ayoola encouraged teachers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities, noting that their contributions are critical to nation-building and societal transformation.
He further called on Christians to engage in sober reflection during the Easter period and extend love to the less privileged through acts of charity, in appreciation of the ultimate sacrifice made by Christ for the redemption of humanity.
