The proposed inclusion of Hon. Olatunde Gideon Igbasan, widely known as Tula Mania, in the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council has triggered excitement within the APC Youth Network West Africa, with members describing the development as an encouraging moment for grassroots political participation.

Igbasan, who serves as Director-General of the organisation, appears as Member No. 54 in the circulated list of the proposed Directorate of Youth Mobilisation.

For the organisation, the development represents more than a name on a political list. It provides an opportunity to spotlight the relationship between youth leadership, community service and participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.

In its congratulatory message, the APC Youth Network West Africa pointed to Igbasan’s reported involvement in weekly food distribution programmes, support for vulnerable communities, youth empowerment and grassroots engagement across Nigeria and other parts of West Africa.

These activities, the organisation said, reflect a leadership approach that places community welfare alongside political participation.

The group maintained that effective youth leadership should not be measured exclusively by political appointments or campaign positions but also by the ability to connect with ordinary people and contribute to their wellbeing.

It further praised party members, community organisers and volunteers who continue to support the APC through grassroots activities, describing their contributions as essential to collective progress.

The organisation also emphasised that the proposed listing should be seen within the broader context of teamwork and shared responsibility rather than as an achievement belonging to one individual alone.

As preparations for the 2027 general elections continue to shape political conversations, youth mobilisation is expected to remain an important component of party organisation and voter engagement.

The APC Youth Network West Africa congratulated its Director-General and expressed hope that the proposed membership would receive official confirmation.

For the organisation, the central message is clear: political participation carries greater significance when it is accompanied by service, community engagement and a commitment to the welfare of others.
