Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, on Saturday received Sa’adatu Ibrahim Lawal as the bride of Salisu Musa Galadima at a marriage ceremony held in Kwandare, Lafia Local Government Area.
The former Speaker represented the interest of the groom’s father during the ceremony, while Alhaji Halidu Umar stood in for the bride’s father.
The occasion brought together political officeholders, community representatives, family members and well-wishers to celebrate the union of the couple.
Speaking at the event, Balarabe Abdullahi urged the newlyweds to observe the ethics of marriage and make mutual understanding, trust and openness the pillars of their relationship.
He advised them to avoid unnecessary interference in their matrimonial affairs, stressing the importance of resolving challenges together and respecting each other’s opinions.
The former Speaker also prayed for God to bless their union and grant them the wisdom to sustain a peaceful and successful home.
He was accompanied by Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali, a former member representing Lafia North in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and current Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Legislative Liaison.
The Chief Imam of Kwandare Central Mosque, Malam Salihu Akwai, solemnised the marriage after the presentation of medical certificates of fitness and payment of ₦450,000 as bride price.

The cleric urged the couple to remain united, share their problems and opinions, and demonstrate commitment to one another through trust and sincerity.
The Deputy Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Hon. Uba Arikya, was among the dignitaries who attended the event, while praise singers provided entertainment for guests.
