The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Directorate has set a target of 40 million women’s votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 presidential election.
The Director of the Women Mobilisation Directorate, Dr Betta Edu, disclosed this during the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme in Abuja.
The summit was convened by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and brought together women stakeholders from across Nigeria as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 election.

Edu used the occasion to commend the First Lady for her role in convening the summit and supporting programmes focused on women’s mobilisation, empowerment and participation.

She said the APC women’s structure was being activated across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with grassroots engagement extending to local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.
Edu said the strategy was designed to ensure sustained interaction between women leaders and communities rather than relying solely on large political rallies.
“We are moving into the 2027 electoral season with purpose, structure, and determination. Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it. President Tinubu will win again,” she said.
The Director said women’s mobilisation would also focus on economic opportunities, agriculture, enterprise, skills acquisition, governance and community development.
The event featured senior political figures and women stakeholders, including Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President; Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council; Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma; former APC National Chairman Umar Abdullahi Ganduje; members of the PCC Women Mobilisation Directorate; delegates from the 36 states and FCT; support groups and CSOs.

The atmosphere became particularly lively when Edu led participants in the chant, “Winner! Oh, oh, oh! Winner! Jagaban! You don win o!”
The First Lady, wife of the Vice President, wife of the Senate President, more than 30 wives of state governors and other dignitaries joined the singing and dancing.

Edu thereafter declared that Tinubu would remain President until 2031, while calling on APC women to maintain unity and organisation ahead of the election.
The summit also included an empowerment programme through which women beneficiaries received various support items. The First Lady presented some of the items, including motorbikes and farm trucks.

On the sidelines, Senator Oluremi Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other dignitaries.
