Tinubu 2027: APC Women Take Grassroots Campaign to Communities Across Nigeria

Women supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are taking the party’s campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election to wards and communities across the country.

The exercise, led by the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s women mobilisation structure under Dr Betta Edu, is designed to strengthen communication between the party and women at the grassroots.

The mobilisation comes as political parties begin building their grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

INEC records 176,846 polling units across Nigeria, making grassroots structures an important component of election organisation and voter engagement.

From Jigawa and Kano to Zamfara, Kwara, Benue, Plateau, Imo, Cross River, Oyo, Ondo, Rivers and Osun, organisers say women are holding meetings to discuss issues affecting families and communities while explaining APC policies and programmes.

The mobilisation is also being promoted around a target of 40 million women votes for President Tinubu.

For some participants, education financing has emerged as one of the issues they associate with the current administration. NELFUND officially provides student loans that can include institutional fees and upkeep, subject to verification and the terms of the programme.

Women supporters have also cited empowerment initiatives associated with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative as reasons for their support.

The political mobilisation, however, remains part of the broader contest for votes ahead of the presidential election.

INEC has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027.

The APC women mobilisation structure says its objective is to maintain regular communication at ward and community levels while encouraging supporters to remain organised.
