Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing him as a dynamic and inspirational leader whose contributions to the growth and development of the state remain enduring.
In a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori praised Ibori’s impactful tenure as governor from 1999 to 2007, noting that his visionary leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to public service inspired many and laid a solid foundation for Delta State’s progress.
The governor described the elder statesman as a great motivator and influential leader whose legacy continues to resonate across Delta State and beyond, with many still benefiting from the developmental strides initiated during his administration.
According to Oborevwori, Ibori’s dedication to governance and service has earned him lasting respect and admiration from the people of the state.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate our dynamic and inspirational leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, on his 68th birth anniversary,” the governor stated.
Governor Oborevwori prayed for God’s continued protection, good health, wisdom, and long life for the former governor as he marked his birthday on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
He also wished Ibori many more years of fulfilment and impactful service, saying, “May your special day be filled with joy and pleasant memories. Congratulations.”
