There was a time when Kogi Central made headlines for the wrong reasons – clan rivalry, political violence, and insecurity. Communities that shared one ancestry struggled to speak with one voice. Then, headlines about Ebira land were rarely about development.
That narrative changed between 2016 and 2024. Under Governor Yahaya Bello, Kogi Central found peace, unity, and direction. It didn’t happen by chance. It was leadership. Kogi Central experienced something many of us had given up on: Peace, Unity, and a sense that we are one people. As we approach 2027, that same leadership and that same “ONE KOGI CENTRAL” model is what we need to take to the National Assembly.
SECURITY FIRST
Insecurity was threatening lives and livelihoods across Adavi, Okehi, Okene, Ajaokuta, and Ogori-Magongo. The Bello administration responded with decisive action – supporting security agencies with logistics, strengthening intelligence and empowering local vigilantes. Traditional rulers and youth leaders were brought into the security architecture.
The results were markets stayed open late, farmers returned to their farms and our children went to school without fear.
UNITY THROUGH INCLUSION
Beyond security, Bello worked to heal political divisions. He prioritized engagement with the traditional rulers, making the institution central to governance again. Appointments, projects, and empowerment programs were spread fairly across the 5 LGAs.
The message was simple: “Ebira first, party and clan second”. Today, that spirit of “One Kogi Central” is stronger than ever.
WHY THE SENATE NEEDS THIS MODEL
The Senate is not just a place to sit and raise hands. It is where laws are made, budgets are influenced, and the interests of your people are defended.
As we approach 2027, Kogi Central needs more than just a representative in Abuja. Kogi Central needs a senator who understands power, who has access and who knows how to build bridges. We need a unifier, a Negotiator and one who fights a good course in the interest of his people. Yahaya Bello brings exactly that.
Yahaya Bello has the executive experience, the federal connections, and the proven record of bringing people together. In the Senate, he can use that same peace model to attract projects, defend our interests and push for national issues like Ajaokuta Steel and federal appointments.
Kogi Central has seen what he can do at home. Now let’s send him to do it for us at the center.
Kogi Central deserves a strong voice. Kogi Central deserves Yahaya Bello.
