In a bold move to combat illiteracy and empower the youth, the Maikaya Development Foundation, under the dynamic leadership of its CEO, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, Ciroman Toto, has launched a massive scholarship intervention for indigenous students across Nasarawa State.

The initiative, infused with millions of naira, targets students in various tertiary institutions, signaling a renewed commitment to educational advancement in Nasarawa State.

Dr. Maikaya, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and aspiring governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, personally announced the launch moments after the programme kicked off.

Students from institutions such as the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and federal polytechnics, Colleges of Education received instant credit alerts on their bank accounts, a development that has elicited widespread praise.

Many stakeholders described it as a genuine display of service to humanity, contrasting sharply with the empty promises of some politicians who prioritize frivolity over tangible impact.

The scholarship scheme is no flash in the pan; it builds on a foundation programme that has been running for over two decades.

According to Dr. Maikaya, the intervention extends beyond education to critical sectors like sports development, economic empowerment for vulnerable groups, Provision of Potable drinking water, accessible healthcare services.
“This is not a one-off gesture but a sustained effort to uplift our people,” he stated during the launch, underscoring the foundation’s holistic approach to community development.

For years, Dr. Maikaya has been a steadfas advocate for education, channeling personal resources to bridge gaps in the sector.

Born and raised in Toto Local Government Area, the young entrepreneur-turned-politician, often hailed for his Midas touch in business and philanthropy, has vowed to extend the foundation’s reach across all 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State.

One recipient, Aisha Ibrahim, a 200-level student of Accountancy at Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, said: “This alert came at the right time when fees were a burden. Dr. Maikaya is a father to the masses.”
