PDP Will Shock Critics in 2027, Says Kogi PDP Chairman

The Kogi State chairman of Nigeria’s main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has predicted a resounding victory for his party in the 2027 general elections, promising to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship race.

Speaking to reporters in Lokoja on Saturday after a meeting with party stakeholders, Gambo expressed unwavering confidence in PDP’s resurgence, pointing to growing public disillusionment with Governor Usman Ododo’s administration and a longing for the party’s previous era of governance.

“We are confident that come 2027, it will be a total sweep,” Gambo declared, crediting the state’s enduring infrastructure, such as roads and public facilities, to investments made during PDP’s tenure.

He urged Kogi residents to stay united and patient, assuring them that a PDP victory would halt their current hardships and usher in renewed development.

“The suffering will end, and progress will return,” he added. His remarks come amid rising political tensions in Kogi, long contested between the APC and PDP.

The APC has governed since 2016, but recent economic challenges, including inflation and insecurity, have fueled opposition campaigns.
