Chief Dan Osi Orbih, National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday hailed the Federal High Court in Ibadan for nullifying the party’s controversial National Convention held on November 15-16, 2025.

“The ruling reaffirms that political parties must operate within the law, their constitutions, and internal democratic processes,” he stated.

Chief Orbih warned that the verdict serves as a wake-up call to PDP stakeholders to respect legal processes and uphold democratic values.

He stressed that the party’s survival hinges on adherence to the rule of law, unity, and commitment to democratic ideals, declaring: “There is no alternative to the rule of law in a democracy. Any process ignoring due process cannot endure.”

The PDP chieftain urged the Turaki-led group and supporters to accept the court’s decision and align with the Mohammed Abdulrahman-led Caretaker Committee, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, the only legitimate leadership affirmed by the court pending a lawful convention.
