Nollywood Actress Lizzy Anjorin Knocks Anthony Joshua’s Mother Over Boxer’s Visit to Village During Festive Season

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin, has faulted the mother of British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua, over his decision to spend the festive season in his hometown during his recent visit to Nigeria.

In a viral video making the rounds on social media, Anjorin questioned why Joshua’s mother allegedly allowed him to lodge in his village instead of relocating him to what she described as “safer, upscale areas” like Lekki, Ikoyi or Banana Island in Lagos.

In the video, the actress said: “Anthony Joshua’s mother is to blame. She didn’t put her son in a better place like Lekki or Ikoyi, she watched him go back to his village for the festivities.

What reasonable mother would watch her son go back to that kind of place?

Why couldn’t she put him somewhere like Ikoyi or Banana Island?

”Her remarks followed reports that Joshua was recently involved in a serious auto crash on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway during the festive period.

The accident reportedly claimed the lives of two of his close associates, while the former world champion escaped with minor injuries.

Anjorin’s comments have since stirred mixed reactions across social media platforms, with many users debating the extent of parental responsibility for adult children, as well as the security measures expected of high-profile celebrities when they visit the country, particularly during festive seasons.
