NGO Modest and Unique Sisters Empowers Students and Parents with School Materials

In a bid to promote education and self-reliance, the non-governmental organization Modest and Unique Sisters has empowered students and parents from less privileged backgrounds with school materials.
The empowerment program, held at Central Primary School Akwanga on Tuesday, aimed to bridge the educational gap and foster a supportive community.
Modest and Unique Sisters, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged individuals, has made a significant impact in Akwanga.
The NGO identified and empowered school dropouts at Central School Akwanga, covering their school fees for one year, providing uniforms, books, and shoes while Parents of the beneficiaries also received food items.
Mrs. Rebecca Odonye, President of Modest and Unique Sisters, and Dr. Jumai Fatima Hashim, Coordinator, stated that the organization’s goal is to support indigent students and discourage child labor, and warned parents to prioritize their children’s education and vowed to monitor the students’ progress.
They expressed their commitment to ensuring no child is left behind, appealing for support to help the organization succeed in its mission.
Prof. Hauwa’u Mainoma, Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, praised the initiative, saying it would promote education and self-reliance.
The Principal of Central School Akwanga, Bamaiyi Haruna Meshi, thanked the NGO and promised to ensure the students’ academic success just as the event included the presentation of school materials to the students and their parents.
