The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has emphasized the importance of religious tolerance among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.
This, the State Number Three Citizen called for sustain peace and unity among citizens for development to thrive.
He made the call during the investiture ceremony of Boys’ Brigade Nigeria Agwada Battalion Council, where he was decorated as the Grand Patron.
It was reported that the investiture and decoration ceremony, held at ECWA Church Agwada Area Administrative Council, was a testament to Dr. Jatau’s contributions to the progress of the brigade and support for religious activities in the State.
The President of Boys’ Brigade Nigeria Nasarawa State Council, Hon. Akolo Success Ahmed, presented Dr. Jatau with a certificate and a symbol of authority, acknowledging his dedication to the organization.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Jatau expressed his gratitude to the Boys’ Brigade for the honor bestowed upon him and promised to continue supporting the activities of the battalion, ensuring their success and growth.
The Speaker also called on the church to play a vital role in inculcating good morals in young children, enabling them to become responsible members of the society.
Before the investiture ceremony, Dr. Jatau inspected the quarter guards of the battalion, where he encouraged them to sustain their efforts in spreading the gospel of Christ, preaching peace and unity.
The gesture was said demonstrated his commitment to the organization’s mission and his passion for promoting the values of Christianity.
Earlier, the Speaker visited the palace of Osu Agwada on royal homage and blessings.
