In his effort to advance Kogi State’s economic transformation, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has sent a delegation to the People’s Republic of China to seek partnerships and investment opportunities for the proposed Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone.

The State delegation had a robust meeting with Chinese delegation which included representatives from Shenzhen Hededa – a precision cleaning equipment conglomerate based in Shenzhen, and Shanghai Yaohan Co. Ltd., a biomedical and medical digital systems company with it’s headquarters in Shanghai.
The Special Adviser on Strategic Investment and Liaison with Federal Agencies to the Governor, Amb. Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman, who led the delegation on behalf of the State’s Chief Economic Adviser, reaffirmed the Governor’s dedication to strengthening the state’s economy through industrial development, job creation, and international partnerships.
Amb. Ozavize noted that the proposed 3,000-hectare zone will be of huge economic benefit in view of its proximity to key infrastructure such as Geregu Power Plant, gas facilities, rail lines, road networks and an airstrip.

The Chinese delegation expressed strong enthusiasm and praised the Governor’s vision, indicating their readiness to participate in the project, viewing it as a promising gateway for manufacturing, logistics and technology investments.
