Keffi Corrections Centre Breaks Record: 196 Officers Promoted, Decorated in Historic Ceremony

The Keffi new medium security custodial center has made history with the promotion and decoration of 196 officers to senior ranks, marking the first large-scale promotion of its kind.
The promotion of officers by the Nigerian Correctional Service to senior cadres, recognizing their dedication and professionalism which is part of a larger exercise where 16,582 officers were promoted nationwide, with 11,417 officers promoted within the senior cadre and 4,253 junior officers advancing to their next ranks.
The colourful event was held at the premises of the center Dadin Kowa in Keffi LGA Nasarawa state on Friday was attended by the family of the newly decorated officers and sisters federal government agencies including Army, DSS, NSCDC, Police NDLEA, FRSC among others.
The officer in charge the center, Ismaila Shekwoyandu Bulus thanked the Controller-General of Corrections, Sylvester Nwakuche, for making a history through a massive promotion of officers and emphasized that promotion brings increased responsibility, demanding higher discipline, integrity, and professionalism.

The promoted officers are expected to uphold these values, contributing to the Service’s goals of humane custody, rehabilitation, and public safety.
Ismaila reveals the decoration marks a milestone for Keffi’s new medium security custodial center, with 196 officers promoted to senior ranks.

The promotions signify a major achievement for the officers and the institution, highlighting their commitment to excellence.
The decorated officers include Chief Superintendents, Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Inspectors, and Senior Correctional Assistants (SCA).
Dr. Ndenarimam Shamaki, Deputy Controller of Corrections, and ACC Meeme Uten Timothy praised the promotions, urging the officers to justify the trust placed in them through hard work and dedication.
Speaking for the promoted officers, Samaila Yohanna thanked the Correctional Service for the recognition and pledged to continue working diligently to uphold the institution’s image.
