Sen. Adamu made the call during the foundation-laying ceremony for the construction of a perimeter fence at Abdu-Zanga Primary School, Keffi. The project was sponsored by Prof. Haruna, an APC gubernatorial aspirant for Nasarawa State in the 2027 election.

The former APC chairman, who was represented at the event by the Member representing Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumini Ari, charged the school management and community to ensure proper maintenance of the facility upon completion.

In her remarks, the Education Secretary of Keffi Local Government Area, Hajiya Fatima, expressed appreciation to Prof. Haruna for prioritizing education, describing the intervention as a laudable initiative worthy of emulation by other leaders.

Speaking earlier, Prof. Haruna, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), called on well-meaning Nigerians to complement government efforts by investing in community development, especially in education.

He noted that the fencing of Abdu-Zanga Primary School is one of several educational interventions he has undertaken, stressing that education remains a critical driver of national development. “Education is the backbone of every economy. It is important that we all prioritize it for the benefit of society,” Prof. Haruna said.

He explained that the fencing project was aimed at curbing encroachment that has reduced the size of the historic school, which has produced many eminent sons and daughters of Keffi and beyond. He added that the project was also in honour of the late Emir of Keffi, Abdu Zanga, and his royal lineage.

Prof. Haruna, on behalf of the Maisharifai Contact and Mobilization Committee, also presented awards of excellence and exemplary performance to the A. A. Sule Matters Association and Comrade Abubakar Yusuf Doma, popularly known as “Danger,” the Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule on Project Monitoring and Evaluation.

Prof. Haruna further commended the Nasarawa State Governor for providing a conducive learning environment across the state, calling on residents to continue supporting the government to achieve more developmental milestones.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of wrappers to teachers of the school.
