FCT poll: ZUKOYDA declare support for Gwagwalada PDP candidate

A youth group, under the umbrella body of the Zuba Koro Youths Development Association (ZUKOYDA) has formally declared their support for the chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Hon. Kasim Mohammed Ikwa, ahead of the February 21, 2026 chairmanship election in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
The Chairman of ZUKOYDA, Mallam Sanusi Alhassan, who stated this during the association’s stakeholders meeting on Sunday, said the umbrella body of all Koro youth associations in Zuba Chiefdom, have no other candidate than Kasim Mohammed.
He said that their decision to declare support for the PDP chairmanship candidate was based on verified records, credibility, competence, and his proven capacity.
He, therefore, charged members of the association to see the support for the PDP chairmanship candidate as a collective movement, while urging them to fully mobilize for his success at the polls.
In his response, the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Kasim Mohammed Ikwa appreciated the association for their confidence and support.
He described the journey as a shared responsibility, and urged the youths to intensify grassroots mobilization in order to ensure overall victory of both chairmanship and councillorship candidates at the election.
Our correspondent report that some campaign items were also donated by the youth group to the Chairmanship candidate.
