A Elder statesman, Chief Richard Asaje says Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello will be vindicated in the ongoing Money Laundering charge against him by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
Reacting to the fresh arguement in Court and testimonies of witnesses, Chief Asaje pointed out that there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel for the Former Governor, Bello in view of the recent development.
“Look, I have no doubts in my heart. With God on our side, Yahaya Bello will be vindicated. He served Kogites well to the best of his abilities and his legacies are there for all to see. He deserves better and I know, victory shall be ours”, he added.
On Monday, 9th February 2026, a Prosecution Witness Mahmoud Abdulazeez – a staff of Dantata and Sawoe Construction Limited, when being cross-examined by the Defense Lawyer, Joseph Dauda SAN, told Justice Emeka Nwite that the name of Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello was not linked to the transactions in the fresh documents rendered by the Commission in the ongoing money Laundering trial.
Other Witness of the EFCC, James Igbakuleh and Jemilu Abdullahi, also said they were just seeing Yahaya Bello for the first time at the Court as his name was never mentioned in any transaction process.
Justice Nwite however said he will need to look at the issues critically before giving a ruling after the parties must have adopted their processes.
The Judge therefore adjourned the matter until April 22nd, 23rd, 24th and May 6th and 7th 2026, for continuation of trial.
