UKUIDA Condemns Ibaji Killings, Demands Justice for Victims
…Sympathises with Bereaved Families, ask govt to Hunt Down Perpetrators
The Udama kpai Unyogba Idah Development Association (UKUIDA) has strongly condemned the brutal attack on Ibaji communities that claimed the lives of four innocent citizens, calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja, UKUIDA President, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, described the killings by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums as “unfortunate” and urged government and security agencies to leave no stone unturned in unravelling the immediate and remote causes of the dastardly act.

The statement read in part: “UKUIDA is using this medium to call on the security agencies to go after and fish out those behind the dastardly act. We will not rest on our oars until the perpetrators are arrested to face the full wrath of the law.”It added:
“The action of the masterminds who derive pleasure in the killing and destruction of people’s property even without provocation must not be allowed to go unchallenged.” Hon. Ukwenya specifically appealed to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo and security chiefs to ensure the attackers are apprehended and brought to book, warning that failure to do so would embolden criminals.”
Until this is done to serve as a deterrent to indulgents who partook in the wanton destruction and killings of innocent people, such crimes will continue to fester in the society,” the statement noted.
UKUIDA also charged the Kogi State government and law enforcement agencies to heighten vigilance through intelligence gathering to forestall further attacks, while urging citizens to provide useful information that could lead to the culprits’ arrest.
The association pledged to employ all lawful means to ensure lasting peace and security, allowing residents to pursue their legitimate livelihoods unhindered.It commiserated with the victims’ families and the affected communities, assuring them of UKUIDA’s solidarity.
“We urge the affected communities to remain calm and be assured that we are with them in this trying moment. We will visit the affected communities and follow up with all activities that will lead to the arrest of the marauders.”
