Mrs. Andrea Gaza Empowers over 600 women in Nasarawa West with food items and Cash

Mrs. Andrea Jonathan Gaza Gbwefi, wife of Member representing Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has distributed food items worth millions of Naira including bags of rice, beans and maize to over 600 women and vulnerable persons across his constituency.

The distribution exercise, which took place in Nasarawa State, Auta Gurgu, in Karu Local Government Area on Thursday benefitted residents from Karu, Keffi and Kokona Local Government Areas including women of Nindama village where unknown gunmen attacked the community where lives were lost and property destroyed.
Jonathan Gaza, the governorship hopeful under the social democratic party SDP, in Nasarawa state come 2027.
The initiative was described as part of the lawmaker’s ongoing women empowerment and humanitarian support programme aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Andrea Gbwefi Jonathan highlighted the various developmental projects and support initiatives carried out by her husband within the constituency. She urged the people to continue supporting him in appreciation of his efforts.
“Hon. Jonathan Gaza is a great man that deserves so much in return from the people,” she said, noting that the food distribution was another demonstration of his commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents.
Hon. David Maiyaki, in his remarks, described Hon. Gaza as a man known for good deeds and dedication to service. He commended the federal lawmaker for his continuous efforts in providing relief and empowerment opportunities for the people of the constituency.
A representative of the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA) also lauded Hon. Gaza for his unwavering commitment to his people. According to the agency’s representative, the lawmaker has consistently prioritized the welfare of his constituents, and the distribution of food items to women and youths further reflects his dedication to bettering lives.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Akolo who spoke on behalf of Jonathan Gaza, acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Gaza, praising his leadership style and responsiveness to grassroots needs, stressing that the gesture was the beginning of good things to come.
Women beneficiaries from Karu, Keffi and Kokona Local Government Areas, who spoke with one voice, expressed deep appreciation to the lawmaker for his generosity and consistency in coming to their aid.
“We have never experienced such consistent good deeds, but because of Hon. Gaza, we now know and feel what it means to have a good leader. He has always remembered the women, especially the vulnerable and widows among us. May God bless him and may his pocket never run dry for always supporting his people,” they said.
They also offered prayers for his continued success and pledged their support for his leadership aspirations.
Hon. Augustine Monday Akpu, senior Legislative Aide to Hon. Jonathan Gaza Gbwefi, explained that the programme was specifically designed as a women empowerment initiative targeting vulnerable groups, including widows.
“This programme is a women’s empowerment initiative. We tried to put smiles on their faces. Many of them are vulnerable and some are widows. I really acknowledge Hon. Gaza for all his good works and for everything he has been doing for the people,” he said.
Beneficiaries were visibly excited as they received the food items, expressing gratitude and appreciation for what they described as a timely intervention.
The event further underscored Hon. Gaza’s continued engagement with constituents through humanitarian interventions and empowerment programmes across Karu, Keffi and Kokona Federal Constituency.
