Nasarawa Local Government Tops Nigeria’s Local Government Integrity Index
The Nigerian Local Government Integrity Index (NLGII) has ranked Nasarawa Local Government as the best-performing local government area in Nigeria.
The ranking was released by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI) in Abuja.
According to the report, Nasarawa LGA is in the top “Low Risk” tier (Tier 1), while the state-level ranking places Nasarawa State 35th out of 37 states with a score of 57, indicating a relatively lower corruption risk.

The report highlights that 85% of Nigeria’s LGAs fall into the “very high” or “critical” corruption risk categories, making Nasarawa State’s performance notable.
States like Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Jigawa are implementing reforms yielding positive results.
