A prominent Agro-Chemical dealer in Nasarawa town, Alhaji Gambo Yanga Gwargwada, has made a special appeal for the zoning of the Toto/Gadabuke Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to Gadabuke District, citing historical imbalances to prevent political marginalization.
Alhaji Yanga, Managing Director of Danyanga Agro Chemical Limited, made the call after reviewing a social media post by a women’s association.

The post highlighted that Toto District, with three wards, has produced State House of Assembly members five times, while Gadabuke District, also with three wards, has had only one tenure.
“This analysis is heart-touching and needs to be amended to avoid political marginalization,” Alhaji Yanga declared.
He praised former Speaker, Rt. Honourable Ibrahim Abdullahi Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, for pioneering zoning in the Toto Local Government chairmanship race.
“That has solved problems of schism and disagreement among the three districts.
Posterity will come of age to remember Ibrahim Balarabe Abdulahi for this bold step he took to bring mutual understanding and harmonious relationships in politics,” he said.
Alhaji Yanga recalled the sequence of past representatives including, Hon. Adams Nyisana (two tenures from Toto), Hon. Madaki Adah Goje (one tenure from Gadabuke), followed by Hon. Saidu Galadima, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, and Hon. Garba Isimbabi, all from Toto.
“For fairness and equity, the next House member representing Gadabuke/Toto, without argument, should be zoned to Gadabuke District,” he insisted.
He questioned the ruling party’s stance, asking: “What do you want me to tell my people regarding voting for a party that has the principle of ‘whosoever has the opportunity takes all’?”
Drawing a parallel, Alhaji Yanga referenced a past incident when Prince Aliyu Sani was Toto LGA chairman. Alhaji Usman Ubam from Karmo sought the State House of Assembly seat in Jos, but Gade leaders supported Hon. Bala Awaza instead.
He quoted the late Alhaji Usman Bagudu: “This Local Government does not belong to Gade people alone. We must carry ourselves along irrespective of religious or tribal differences to avoid negative aftermath.
”Alhaji Yanga endorsed Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Toto LGA and the only APC aspirant from Gadabuke District. “He is an excellent performer while in office, and the people of Gadabuke Development Area are proud of him.
If given the opportunity, Tashas Abdullahi will do more than excellent,” he affirmed.
The appeal comes amid growing calls for equitable representation in Nasarawa State’s political circles, with zoning remaining a key tool for fostering unity.
