Nasarawa ADC Chairman Godwin Alaku Sacked Over Anti-Party Wahala
….TLT Slams 14-Day Suspension, Sets Up Probe Panel Led by Ex-Deputy Gov Abdul
The Transitional Leadership Team (TLT) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State has wasted no time in suspending their State Chairman, Mr. Godwin Alaku Williams, over weighty allegations of anti-party activities.
According to a press statement Signed and issued by Comr. Idris Ojoko, State Publicity Secretary, ADC, Nasarawa State Chapter, said the hammer fell today during a high-stakes meeting of ADC bigwigs at Otunsha Hotel in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
It followed a damning petition that painted Alaku as a thorn in the party’s side, threatening its unity and growth.
Top on the petition’s hit list: Alaku’s outright rejection of the ADC National Leadership under Sen. David Mark, GCON. He also stonewalled efforts to integrate coalition members into the party’s Nasarawa structure.
Worse still, he dragged key party leaders, including His Excellency Chief John Michael Abdul, Sen. Suleiman Adokwe, and Mallam Jibril Sabo Keana, to INEC, DSS, and Nigeria Police, branding them impostors. Add to that, setting up parallel party organs, meddling with office setups against NWC orders, and sabotaging membership registration.
The TLT didn’t hold back, approving a 14-day suspension for Alaku pending probe. They’ve fired up a Disciplinary Committee under ex-Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Chief John Michael Abdul.
The panel boasts heavyweights: Barr. Hassan Yakubu (Chairman), Amina Zanwa, Mr. Mamman Sunday, Hon. Yunus Abdullahi Sidi (all Members), with Mr. Gaza Mark Auta as Secretary.
In the shake-up, Barr. Paul Magaji Ajeh, the former Secretary, steps up as Acting State Chairman. Umar A. Babayaro grabs the Acting State Secretary role to steady the ship.
The Keffi showdown drew a star-studded crowd: Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, Sen. Patricia Akwashiki, Barr. Musa Elayo, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi, Mallam Jibril Sabo Keana, Gen. Nuhu Angbazo (rtd.), Barr. John Mathew, Hon. Yamusa Chindo, Mr. Nathaniel Aboki, Mr. Mamman Sunday, Gaza Mark Auta, Mrs. Liyatu Bala, and more party stalwarts.
