The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has reached a firm consensus on the conduct of its upcoming party congresses, adopting the consensus selection mode from ward to local government and state levels.

This resolution emerged from an expanded State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting convened by Governor Abdullahi Sule, where party leaders and stakeholders unanimously endorsed consensus as the pathway to deeper unity and stability, on Tuesday in Lafia.
Speaking at the well-attended gathering, State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, described the decision as a masterstroke that would strengthen the party’s internal cohesion ahead of future elections.
Former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, praised the move as the “best decision” by the party, commending stakeholders for their patriotism.
House of Representatives member for Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba; Deputy National Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Kana; and Musa Mohammed Maikaya, all lauded the stakeholders’ wisdom.
Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated attendees for their commitment, reaffirming his unshakeable support for zoning, which he said produced him as governor.
The governor used the platform to restate that zoning remains the “best option” for equitable power rotation in Nasarawa State.
The high-powered meeting drew top guns including Governor Abdullahi Sule; Senator Abdullahi Adamu; Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe; State Assembly Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau; APC State Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello; Rep. Hon. Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba; former State Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi; State Accountant General Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammed; Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Tijani (CEO NCRMIDP); State House of Assembly members, commissioners, aspirants, and other critical stakeholders.
Global Times Nigeria reports that the APC’s consensus adoption is seen as a strategic move to avert crisis and position the party for victory in upcoming polls.
