‎Ahead of the February 21, 2026 chairmansip election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmansip candidate in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Comrade Mohammed Kasim Ikwa, has embarked on tour of Zuba chiefdom to seek for royal blessing from the traditional rulers across the chiefdom.

Kasim, who was accompanied by the party’s chairman, ex chairman of the council Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, campaign director general and host of other PDP bigwigs visited the palaces of the Aguma of Aguma of Gwagwalada HRH Alhaji Mohammed Magaji and the Agora of Zuba, HRH Alhaji Mohammed Bello Umar.

‎Speaking during the visit to the palace of Aguma of Gwagwalada, the Director General of the Kasim Campaign Council, Umar Zagoi Dobi, explained that the delegation was at the palace to seek blessings and prayers of the monarch for a successful journey ahead of the February 21, 2206 chairmansip election in Gwagwalada Area Council.

‎Responding, the Aguma of Gwagwalada, HRH Alhaji Mohammed Magaji, appreciated the PDP chairmansip candidate, Kasim Mohammed for being part of dignitaries that attended his son’s wedding over weekend im Kano state.

He, however, advised the party leaders and supporters of the chairmanship candidate to ensure a peaceful campaign, saying leadership comes from God.

‎He further charged the party’s campaign council to conduct their activities without any hatred or abusive language and wished them success.

‎Also at the Agora palace, the chairmansip candidate’s campaign team appreciated the palace for granting the delegation audience despite the unscheduled visit.

‎The campaign spokesperson, Alhaji Umar Farooq, urged the Koro community to appreciate the importance of having a son of Zuba as Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the forthcoming February 21, 2026 election.

He, therefore, appealed to the palace to explore all lawful means to rally their kinsmen both young and old to support the candidature of Comrade Kasim Mohammed Ikwa during forthcoming chairmanship election in Gwagwalada area council.

‎While contributing, the former chairman of the council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, also appealed to the Agora palace to unite the Koro communities, noting that leadership ultimately comes from God.

‎He expressed optimism that the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Kasim Mohammed would emerge as duly elected Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council during the February 21, 2026 election.

‎On his part, ‎the Wambai of Zuba, assured the delegation that their message had been received, while wishing the entourage best of luck ahead of the February 21 , 2026 election.

‎He, however, advised the team to always verify issues before drawing conclusions, adding that the movement is for the benefit of the Zuba people and requires the collective support of all sons and daughters of Zuba.

‎In his remarks, the Agora of Zuba, HRH. Engr. Muhammad Bello Umar, who prayed for God’s blessings on the movement, called on the entire Zuba community to forgive Kasim Mohammed for any past grievances and urged residents to embrace unity.

He further reflected on the historical bravery of the Zuba Chiefdom, appreciating the support given to Wakilin Zuba, and prayed for a peaceful, and a rancour free election.
